BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Nearly 3,000 items will be up for sale at the Linkous Auction in Blacksburg over the course of two days.

Auctioneer Larry Linkous will be selling nearly everything he has gathered over the years. Some unique artifacts include Civil War antiques from both the Confederate and Union. Linkous also has signed artifacts including Robert E. Lee and James Monroe. There will also be collectibles, historical documents, local historical items, and farm and horse tack. A full list is on the Linkous Auction website.

“I’m just downsizing and I actually bought a piece of real estate, where I am going to use this money to roll over into another piece of real estate. I am really happy to be able to do it,” said Linkous.

He also tells WFXR News that each item has a story to tell and that it’s important for people to know the history of these items.

The auction is being held at 2190 Merrimac Road starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30 and ending at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.
