DUBLIN, Va. (WFXR) — As a strike continues at Dublin’s Volvo plant in Pulaski County, union workers are receiving support from a former presidential candidate.
On Wednesday, April 28, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders tweeted he stands with union workers who are “striking for a living wage and job security.”

More than 2,000 Volvo employees with the union walked off the job on April 17.
The union is seeking wage increases, job security, wage progression, skilled trades, shift premium, holiday schedules, work schedules, health and safety, seniority, pension, 401(k), healthcare, prescription drug coverage, and overtime.
WFXR News reached out to Volvo for a statement, but has not received a response.
The Dublin plant is the largest manufacturer of Volvo trucks in the world.
