(WFXR) — As many southwest Virginia localities wake up to cold winter temperatures Thursday morning, a few school districts in the New River Valley have decided to delay or cancel the school day as snow falls in the area.
Here is a list of the school districts that have delayed or closed operations as of 7:55 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21:
Bland County
UPDATE: Bland County Public Schools are now closed for the day rather than delaying operations for two hours on Thursday.
Grayson County
UPDATE: Public schools in Grayson County will now be closed on Thursday instead of operating on a two-hour delay.
Wythe County
Wythe County Public Schools are following a Code 4 closure on Thursday. Even though meal service will not be provided, students will participate in virtual learning from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
