PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A soldier who spent the last year overseas was welcomed home with plenty of hugs after he surprised his two second-graders at Pulaski Elementary School Friday morning.

On Friday, Nov. 12, Pulaski County Public Schools says U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Joseph Flesher and his wife stopped by the elementary school during a special fire drill to see their twin children.

As you can tell from the pictures and video below, the twins were very excited to see their father after a year apart.

“We thank him for his service and believe this is a wonderful way to top off a week of recognizing the service and sacrifices of our Veterans,” Pulaski County Public Schools wrote on Facebook on Friday.
