BLAND COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Bland County’s JAMS (Junior Appalachian Musician’s Program) is taking applications for new members.
According to a social media post on Bland County Public Schools’ Facebook page, in-person lessons will begin on March 29.
JAMS is an after-school program that focuses on traditional music and is open to any student who attends Bland County schools in grades 4-9.
Students will select a class in guitar, banjo or fiddle. Classes are taught by trained musicians.
Classes meet on Mondays from 3-4:30 p.m. at Bland County Elementary School (BCES).
Bland County Schools will provide bus transportation to the school from Bland County High School. Parents will need to pick up their children at BCES.
