PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia Senator, Tim Kaine will be in Dublin on Thursday, April 13 to learn more about Volvo Trucks’ New River Valley Assembly Plant and how electric trucks are produced there, as well as to meet with employees.
In Senator Kaine’s 10 a.m. tour of the facility, he will test drive a Volvo VNR Electric Truck. The tour of the Volvo Trucks’ New River Valley Assembly Plant is not only a way to learn more about how trucks are made, but also a way to see how the Inflation Reduction Act is supporting American manufacturers.
Senator Kaine helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act into law back in August of 2022, which rewards the purchase of medium and heavy-duty electric trucks by offering a tax credit. Those electric trucks can help reduce emissions and support American manufacturing jobs like those at Volvo’s facility.
