PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On Monday, Pulaski County Schools went virtual to allow faculty and staff to honor the life of a fellow employee who died last month.

Deborah Griffith is said to have worked with the district for 17 years – most recently, at Dublin Elementary School as an administrative assistant.

Superintendent Dr. Kevin Siers says students were given their work in advance while teachers were on stand-by at their respective schools.

Dr. Siers added that the loss of Griffith sits heavy on his heart because he remembered seeing her at the front desk every time walked into Dublin Elementary School.

Griffith was reportedly shot and killed by her son, William Tyler Griffith, 28, on Nov. 24.
