Rich Creek Police confirm COVID-19-related scam

New River Valley News

RICH CREEK, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Rich Creek are urging citizens to be mindful about scams that may sound too good to be true.

According to the department, citizens say they are receiving scams by phone and by email that say Netflix is giving away a yearlong subscription for free due to the pandemic.

Scammers are requesting personal information including banking details from people who sign up.

Police say this is a scam and Netflix is not offering a yearly subscription for free and no one from Netflix will contact you about signing up.
