WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — People who don’t have health insurance have an opportunity to get free dental care, hearing and eye exams, mammograms, and even assistance with medication in Wythe County this weekend.

The Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic will be at Mountain Empire Airport at 8223 Lee Highway in Rural Retreat on Saturday, May 15 through Sunday, May 16.

RAM says the patient parking lot will open no later than 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and stay open for the rest of the event. As patients arrive at the parking lot, they will be provided with additional information about the clinic opening processes and the next steps.

According to organizers, clinics typically open at 6 a.m., patients arriving early should be prepared with their own food and water.

In addition, due to demand, you should be ready to choose between getting dental services or getting vision services, but medical services will be provided to all patients who attend the clinic.

Patients also need to wear a mask and be tested for the coronavirus before entering the clinic.

Organizers say all medical services are free and open to the public, with no ID required.
