Radford Police investigate pair of Sunday morning shootings

RADFORD, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Radford are investigating two shootings that took place early Sunday morning and sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Radford City Police Department, the first happened at approximately 1:08 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, when officers responded to a report of shots being fired at the 100 block of Madison Street.

A short time later, at 1:22 a.m., an additional report of shots fired came from the 400 block of Sanford Street, where officers found a gunshot victim who was transported to the New River Valley Medical Center, the department says.

There is no word on that person’s condition.

Police say they are are investigating both incidents, which appear to be connected.
