UPDATE: Crash cleared on I-81 South after causing miles of delays in Pulaski County

UPDATE 2:16 p.m.: According to VDOT, crews have cleared the scene of Wednesday’s crash in Pulaski County after it caused a miles-long backup along I-81 South.

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — All southbound travel lanes are shut down on I-81 and traffic is backed up for several miles Wednesday afternoon because of a vehicle crash in Pulaski County.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) says the left shoulder, left lane, and right lane are currently blocked at mile marker 97.5 on I-81 South.

Motorists are reportedly getting around the scene of the wreck by using the right shoulder.

At this time, motorists are delayed for approximately four miles along I-81 South, according to VDOT.
