Pulaski County School Board discusses new policies for treatment of transgender students

New River Valley News

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — During a Tuesday night meeting, the Pulaski County School Board discussed new model guidance for the treatment of transgender students handed down from the Commonwealth.

Dr. Kevin Siers, the district’s Superintendent, says they have received a number of calls about how these policies will be implemented.

Siers adds that school leaders are just getting their hands on the new guidance.

A public hearing will be held in a few months where parents can weigh in on the policies that will be adopted for the Pulaski County school district.
