BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Police say they have identified and charged a man in connection with a late night armed robbery at a Blacksburg convenience store from last week.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, the Blacksburg Police Department says officers were dispatched to the Fast Mart Marathon convenience store at 1211 Toms Creek Road for a report of an armed robbery.

According to police, the subject displayed a weapon during the incident and left the area with some money, but there were no reports of injuries.

On Tuesday, May 18, the department announced Raymond M. Trigg II had been charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of use of a firearm while committing a robbery, and one count of brandishing a firearm in connection with Wednesday’s incident.

Officials say Trigg is currently being held without bond in another jurisdiction for other charges.

“Blacksburg Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this case,” the Blacksburg Police Department said in a statement on Tuesday.
