RADFORD, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Radford are investigating a possible shooting.

According to the Radford University Police Department, around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Radford University Police as well as the Radford City Police responded to an incident that took place off-campus in the area of Second Avenue and Downey Street.

Radford University Police say the incident involved a physical altercation. Witnesses on the scene say they heard a firearm discharge in that area minutes before.

They say the person who reportedly fired the gun left the area in a vehicle and there was no immediate threat to public safety. No one was injured in the incident.
