UPDATE 12:34 p.m.: The Town of Pulaski has issued a Boil Water Notice for the next two days as repairs are being made to a water main break along Washington Avenue. However, this notice only applies to residents experiencing low to no water pressure.

UPDATE 11:10 a.m.: As crews made repairs to Thursday morning’s water main break along Washington Avenue near the Town of Pulaski’s train station, another water line break occurred in the town.

At this time, there is no estimate about when residents can expect their water service — or, in some cases, their regular water pressure — to be restored.

“When service has been restored, you will receive a phone call notifying you of a boil notice that will be implemented if you live in the affected area,” the Town of Pulaski wrote on Facebook.

In addition, because this water line break impacts county facilities within the town, the Pulaski County administration offices will not open until noon.

PULASKI, Va. (WFXR) — A water line break in the Town of Pulaski has left a number of residents either without water or with low water pressure Thursday morning.

According to Pulaski County Emergency Management — which is coordinating with the town — the water line break is near the train station on South Washington Avenue.

As of 5:09 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, officials say there is no water service in the southern and eastern sides of town, but other areas may also experience low water pressure. Crews were sent to the scene to fix the break, but estimated the process would take at least two hours.

Once the necessary repairs are made, Pulaski County Emergency Management says a boil water notice will be issued.

You are asked to avoid the area around the area if possible.
