Overnight paving operations, pipe replacement to temporarily close exit ramp on I-81 south in Montgomery County starting Monday

SALEM, Va. (WFXR) – With work is ongoing on the I-81 project at exit 114 and Route 8, crews will need to temporarily close an exit ramp on I-81 south starting on Monday.

The closure will affect exit 114 to Route 8 (Riner Road) between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, Aug. 2 through Friday, Aug. 6 for pipe replacement and paving.

VDOT says message boards will be in place to alert drivers of the closure.

A reduced speed limit of 60 mph will be in place inside of the work zone.

Drivers may experience some delays in the area if traveling during the times listed above.
