New River Health District says to expect a call back if you pre-registered to receive COVID-19 vaccine

(WFXR) — The New River Health District is announcing that if you pre-registered to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, to expect a call back from health officials.

The New River Valley Public Health Task Force says that up to 50-percent of all calls made to schedule a vaccine appointment was ultimately not answered when officials attempted to contact those who wanted to get a vaccine.

Officials that in some cases, their number had been listed as “potential spam.”

The district has made changes to every outgoing call will be identified as NRV Health District, but officials say the process for verifying the phone number to no longer be listed as spam can take a few days.
