BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The annual Steppin’ Out Festival has returned to Blacksburg, which is why town officials are reminding drivers of the changes in traffic from this weekend’s event.

Multiple roads are closed and detours have been set up to guide traffic throughout the duration of the festival. Event organizers say that Downtown Blacksburg Inc. has planned a weekend of music, food, vendors, children’s activities, and more.

According to Blacksburg town officials, the following roads are closed until Sunday, Aug. 7 at 1 a.m.:

  • South Main Street beginning at the intersection of South Main Street and Washington Street
    • Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Washington Street
  • North Main Street will be closed at the Alumni Mall entrance
    • Southbound traffic will be detoured onto Turner Street
  • Draper Road will be closed just beyond the Kent Square Parking Garage entrance. The garage remains open for parking.
