CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has announced several arrests on various charges over the last week.
On Wednesday, April 21, deputies executed felony warrants and a search warrant at a residence at 23 Woodhaven Drive in Keno.
Warrants were issued, according to a social media post, after deputies further learned about stolen property in the area.
During a search of the residence and curtilage, a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia was found along with two firearms located in a vehicle on the property.
The vehicle’s owner, 40-year-old Jason Douglas May of Pulaski, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The suspected controlled substance located on May will be sent to the Department of Forensic Science for further analysis.
May was taken to the New River Valley Regional Jail and is being held on a $2,500 secure bond.
In addition 42-year-old Anthony Wayne Montgomery of Fancy Gap, was taken into custody on felony warrants for breaking and entering and petit larceny. Montgomery is also being charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute. He is being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
Also, in an unrelated incident on Wednesday, April 28, a deputy was conducting a security check at McGraw’s VA 500 in Cana.
While checking the store, the deputy found a male subject in a vehicle who appeared to be unconscious.
Drug paraphernalia was found in the occupant’s hand.
He has been identified as 44-year-old Davis McArthur King of Walnut Cove, North Carolina. Authorities say he was placed under arrest, taken to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and being charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
King is in the NRV Regional Jail with a $2,500 secure bond.
