MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — First responders from across Montgomery County were dispatched to an industrial building early Thursday morning for reports of multiple fires and explosions.
According to Montgomery County Emergency Services, units from the Blacksburg Volunteer Fire Department, the Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department., and the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad were dispatched to a structure fire at Wolverine Advanced Materials at approximately 4:40 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10.
Emergency officials say initial reports indicated there were two separate fires in the building, as well as multiple explosions.
When crews arrived on scene, they reportedly found fire coming from the ductwork in the building.
After firefighters stretched out the hose for hundreds of feet, Montgomery County Emergency Services says they quickly knocked down the fire without any injuries.
