MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Montgomery County Emergency Services shined a light on a local deputy and school resource office.

Deputy Chip Shrader works with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) as a resource officer. Since schools were not in session every day for the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Deputy Shrader also assisted with security at dozens of COVID testing sites, flu shot sites, and COVID vaccine clinics.

Deputy Shrader is a shining example of someone that does everything he possibly can to care for, protect, and serve everyone within our community!

Not only is he a resource officer with MCPS, but Deputy Shrader also volunteers with the Shawsville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
