GRAYSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — More than two months after a shooting in Carroll County, authorities say a Grayson County man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, 45-year-old Damon Keith Taylor of Ivanhoe, was shot during a fight in the Ivanhoe area on July 24. He was taken from the scene to receive medical attention for injuries he sustained in the incident.
With some assistance from the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, and Virginia State Police, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office announced on July 25 that 32-year-old Bobbi Lashell Lineberry of Fries — who reportedly was involved in the incident — was apprehended.
However, authorities also said they were searching for a second man, 49-year-old Danny Shane Williams of Fries, following the shooting.
Then, on Saturday, Oct. 2, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office announced that Williams was apprehended.
According to officials, Grayson County Deputy Cody Sharpe was at a residence on Adder Lane in Fries investigating a report of a prowler when the deputy noticed a white Oldsmobile in the area. Authorities say that word came in several weeks ago that Williams may be operating a similar vehicle.
Sharpe reportedly contacted the male subject and — after sorting through false information — took Williams into custody without incident.
