WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The man charged with shooting at deputies in Wythe County back in July has been ruled competent to stand trial.

Back in November, WFXR News reported that former Florida Police Officer Ricky Delk was undergoing a competency evaluation after he allegedly shot and injured deputies following a domestic dispute.

Delk is being charged with eight counts of attempted capital murder as well as eight counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count of discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.

Delk is due back in court on April 22.
