CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced a man has been charged with second-degree murder after they found a woman who succumbed to a gunshot wound in Christiansburg.

Deputies say they responded to Switchback Road on Wednesday, Dec. 21 to find 60-year-old Nancy Snider with a gunshot wound. They say Christiansburg Rescue arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

Investigators say they located 52-year-old Russell Snider at the scene and interviewed him. After investigators consulted with the Montgomery County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Snider was charged with second-degree murder.

He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.
