UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: WFXR News is learning new details about the man facing a murder charge after a woman was found dead inside a home in Pulaski County early Wednesday morning.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office told WFXR News that the man — 28-year-old William Tyler Griffith — is the son of 58-year-old Deborah Reed Griffith, who was found dead inside a Dublin home with apparent gunshot wounds on Wednesday, Nov. 24.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office took William into custody for second-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — One person is dead and another has been taken into custody after Pulaski County authorities responded to a report of shots fired early Wednesday morning.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to 5444 Shepherd Drive in Dublin at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24 following a complaint about possible gunshots.
The sheriff’s office says units arrived at the scene and found 58-year-old Deborah Reed Griffith dead inside the home with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Over the course of the investigation, authorities say 28-year-old William Tyler Griffith of Dublin was arrested for second-degree murder. He is reportedly being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
“A special thanks to the Pulaski County Emergency Medical services, the Dublin Police Department and the Virginia State Police for their assistance,” the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.
According to officials, this incident is still under investigation.
The sheriff’s office also emphasized that neither Deborah Reed Griffith nor William Tyler Griffith are related in any way to Pulaski County Commonwealth’s Attorney Justin Griffith.
