GRAYSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police (VSP) have reported responding to a fatal car crash on the night of Jan. 26.

According to police, on Thursday at 7:07 p.m., crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 21 at Elk Creek Parkway, a half-mile north of Route 611.

VSP says a 2017 Nissan Rouge was traveling south on Route 21 when it crossed the double yellow line and struck a 2014 Honda CRV traveling northbound. The impact cause the Nissan to catch fire.

Officers say the driver of the Nissan Linda Moore, 51, died at the scene. It is currently unknown whether Moore was wearing a seatbelt during the crash due to the fire. The driver of the Honda Dora Ciampaglia, 58, was transported for serious injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.

VSP says the crash is still currently under investigation.
