UPDATE: Disabled tractor-trailer on I-81 north in Pulaski County shifted to shoulder; all travel lanes reopened

UPDATE 5:25 p.m.: The disabled tractor-trailer that was blocking the northbound left lane of I-81 at mile marker 93.5 in Pulaski County has been moved off to the shoulder.

Traffic is now moving once again in all lanes but it could take a little time for traffic to thin out in this area.

UPDATE 4:55 p.m.: Congestion continues on a stretch of I-81 north in Pulaski County.

An earlier tractor-trailer crash that closed the interstate at mile marker 95 has been cleared; however, a disabled tractor-trailer in that same area is now blocking the north left lane at mile marker 93.4.

This has resulted in three miles worth of backlogs as traffic attempts to get past where the tractor-trailer is stopped.

UPDATE 4:20 p.m.: An earlier tractor-trailer crash on a section of I-81 north in Pulaski County has been cleared.

VDOT says that four miles of backlogs still remain.

Traffic should thin out shortly as the congestion continues to lessen.

UPDATE 3:25 p.m.: VDOT Salem continues to report that I-81 north is shut down due to a tractor-trailer crash in Pulaski County – at mile marker 95.

Backups are reported at approximately four miles.

Drivers should continue to find an alternate route around the crash.

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A tractor-trailer crash has closed all northbound lanes of I-81 in Pulaski County.

According to VDOT, the crash is located at mile marker 95.

Traffic is said to be backed up approximately three miles behind the crash.

Drivers should find another route or risk getting stuck in the bumper-to-bumper traffic.
