UPDATE 6:59 a.m. (4/29/22): More than 13 hours after a tanker truck crash led to an exit ramp closure along I-81 North in Pulaski County, crews finally cleared the crash and reopened the ramp late Thursday night.

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Pulaski County crews are currently cleaning up the scene of a tanker truck crash, which is expected to keep an exit ramp along I-81 North closed for an extended period of time on Thursday.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) says delays are expected while the northbound exit ramp is shut down at mile marker 101 on I-81.

According to Pulaski County Emergency Management, crews are working to contain and recover material from the tanker truck crash, but there is no risk to residents in the area at this time.
