Guns & Hoses Softball Game to be held in Christiansburg as part of Special Olympics fundraiser

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Guns & Hoses Softball Game, along with other festivities at the Harkrader Sports Complex in Christiansburg on Saturday, will help raise funds for the Special Olympics.

The first pitch in The Guns & Hoses Game between local fire and police organizations will be thrown at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.

Before the game, starting at 10 a.m., other festivities will be on-hand to entertain the family. Kids can enjoy games and activities ,such as moonbounces and a touch-a-truck with Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department and Christiansburg Rescue vehicles.

In addition, Special Olympic Athletes will be present to demonstrate various skills.

The event is free, but donations will be gladly accepted. Concessions and refreshments will be available for purchase.
