GRAYSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is honoring one of its sergeants who is retiring after 25 years of law enforcement service.

Sergeant Jeff Merilic has several accolades and served in the U.S. Army before joining law enforcement. During his career, he has worked for the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, the Independence Police Department, and the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.

Now, Sgt. Merilic will be joining Independence Elementary School as a part-time school resource officer.
