GILES COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — In order to help educators amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Giles County School Board decided to switch three regular school days to early-release days over the next two months.
According to Giles County Public Schools, students will be released two hours early on Friday, Oct. 29; Tuesday, Nov. 23; and Wednesday, Dec. 8.
School officials say they made this choice in order to give teachers and staff members extra time to prepare for classes as they handle the additional workload created as a result of COVID-19.
