GALAX, Va. (WFXR) — The Galax Fire Department is asking for the community’s help in making a 9-year-old’s day a little brighter with a “card attack.”
The 9-year-old, named “Mighty Max,” is battling a late relapse of lymphoblastic leukemia. The boy has been hospitalized out of town and has limited visitation.
The Galax Fire Department has planned a “Might Max Card Attack” to fill his walls with superhero cards filled with words of support and “lots of love.”
Cards can be sent to the Galax Fire Department using the following address:
GFD
Attn: Mighty Max
PO Box 330
Galax, VA 24333
The fire department started collecting cards on Jan. 7., but they have already received two boxes of cards for the boy. They’re hoping to send even more cards to Mighty Max.
