PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged several people in a double murder investigation. The investigation comes after a man’s body was recovered from the New River on Jan. 14.

The medical examiner determined the man, identified as 52-year-old Johnny Raymond Thomas of Pulaski had been shot to death. Deputies say Thomas’s known girlfriend, 25-year-old Jamie Leigh Frazier was also killed and dumped into the river. They say the last time the two were seen or heard from was on Dec. 14, 2022.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says through their investigation they believe the two were killed by 52-year-old Mark David Weiss of Draper.

Weiss has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Two felony warrants for second-degree murder
  • A felony warrant for possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon
  • Two felony warrants for use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • A felony warrant for arson of personal property over $1000 in value
  • Two felony warrants for concealing a dead body
  • A felony warrant for felony destruction of evidence

In addition to the arrest of Weiss, three others were arrested and charged in connection with the case including 35-year-old Ashley Nichole Edwards, 57-year-old Terrence Wade Edwards, and 18-year-old Nolan Michael Neil.

Ashley Nichole Edwards:

  • Two Felony Warrants for Accessory to Murder After the Fact
  • A Warrant for Felony Destruction of Evidence

Terrence Wade Edwards:

  • Two Felony Warrants for Accessory to Murder After the Fact
  • A Felony Warrant for Arson of Personal Property Over $1000 in Value
  • A Warrant for Felony Destruction of Evidence

Nolan Michael Neil:

  • Two felony warrants for concealing a dead body
  • Two felony warrants for accessory to murder after the fact
  • A warrant for felony destruction of evidence
  • A felony warrant for arson of personal property over $1000 in value

Weiss is being held without bond in the New River Valley Regional Jail.

Authorities say the case is still under investigation and they ask the community to keep the families of the victims in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
