Former Christiansburg Rescue Captain passes away

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Tributes are pouring in from friends and family of Kelly Walters, a former Christiansburg Rescue Captain who passed away.

According to a social media post from the Montgomery County Emergency Services, Kelly was a life member of the rescue squad. He was also a founding member of the Riner Volunteer Fire Department.

The Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxilliary’s Facebook page indicates Kelly was born on Sept. 16, 1936, in Rogers.

In the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Kelly was Captain, 1st and 2nd Lieutenant, Treasurer, and President of the Board of Directors.
