CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Montgomery County officials say a mobile home was ravaged and a firefighter was injured after a structure fire in Christiansburg Tuesday morning.

According to Montgomery County Emergency Services, crews from the Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department, Blacksburg Volunteer Fire Department, and Christiansburg Rescue were dispatched to a structure fire shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6.

When the first units arrived on scene, they found a mobile home fully involved in flames.

Even though initial reports indicated someone was trapped in the trailer, officials say everyone was able to escape the fire safely.

First responders brought the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes, but as of 8:08 a.m., Montgomery County Emergency Services says crews are still on the scene conducting overhaul.

According to emergency officials, the residents are receiving assistance from the Red Cross as the mobile home was ruled a total loss.

In addition, Montgomery County Emergency Services says one firefighter was injured and treated at the scene, but no other firefighters or civilians reported any injuries.
