UPDATE 11/21 12:51 p.m.: The Virginia State Police (VSP) released the names of the drivers from the multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 460 and Route 1401 on Thursday morning.

State troopers identified the driver of the 2002 Toyota Tacoma as 51-year-old David O. Lee who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep is 45-year-old Michelle L. Boyd who was uninjured. VSP says charges against Boyd are still pending.

The crash is still under investigation.

TAZEWELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police (VSP) responded to a multi-vehicle crash this morning at 6:40 in Tazewell County.

According to VSP, the crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 460 and Route 1401.

Officials say, the initial crash occurred when a pick-up truck and an SUV collided. The driver of the pick-up truck then exited the vehicle, when a third vehicle struck both the pickup truck and its driver.

While VSP has confirmed that there was one fatality, the identity of the individual who died has yet to be released.

According to officials, investigations as to the cause of the crash is still ongoing at this time, however, icy road conditions are being considered as a possible contribution.
