TAZEWELL, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police (VSP) says they responded to a single-vehicle crash Monday morning that resulted in one death.
According to officials, the crash happened on Route 61 (Gatton Road) close to a quarter-mile east of Route 646 (Burton Hollow Road).
They say, Roger Hagy, 78, was driving a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was traveling west on Gatton Road, when the car ran off the right side of the road, struck the embankment, overturned, and struck a utility pole.
VSP says he was not wearing a seatbelt and died on the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
