UPDATE 11:16 a.m.: Pulaski County authorities say crews have cleared the scene of Thursday morning’s crash along Cougar Trail Road that left one driver dead and another injured.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle crash in the 5100 block of Cougar Trail Road shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they say they found a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer involved in what appeared to be a head-on collision
The sheriff’s office says the driver of the pickup truck — identified as Warren Croy of Peterstown, West Virginia — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the tractor-trailer was reportedly transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to officials, the Dublin Fire Department, Newbern Fire Department, Pulaski County EMS, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and the Pulaski County Crash investigation team helped respond to the incident, which is still under investigation.

Pulaski County Emergency Management says crews are currently handling an incident involving a vehicle along Cougar Trail Road near Cougar Center Drive.
Cougar Trail Road is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.
According to officials, traffic is being routed around the scene of the incident, but you are still asked to expect delays or, if possible, avoid the area.
