MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A driver is lucky to be alive after a rollover crash ended with a sedan on its roof.

The Montgomery County Emergency Services posted the pictures on its Facebook page. They say that it happened just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 in the 600 block of Walton Road.

When Christiansburg Rescue, Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department, and Montgomery County Sherrif’s Office arrived they found the driver trapped inside. Authorities had to close down the road for some time as they worked to get the driver free.

Fire crews managed to get the driver out of the car by utilizing high-pressure air bags to lift the car and then their Genesis battery-operated spreaders to open the door.

According to EMS, the driver only had minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
