(WFXR) — New River Valley and North Carolina first responders worked together on Saturday to help airlift a critical patient to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
According to a Facebook post on Saturday, April 3 from the Pipers Gap Rescue Squad, Inc., crews responded to a call about an unresponsive patient who was not breathing.
When they arrived at the scene, the rescue squad says they began performing CPR and were able to restore the patient’s pulse.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Galax Fire Department received a request to set a landing zone at the Crossroads Institute for AirCare to pick up and transport this critical patient to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for treatment.
“We would like to thank Twin county 911 call center. Galax Fire Department. And Wake Forest Baptist AirCare. Great team work and a even better outcome for the patient,” the Pipers Gap Rescue Squad wrote on Facebook.
