UPDATE: Backups cleared after earlier crash on I-81 south in Pulaski

UPDATE 4:55 p.m.: VDOT says all backups have cleared behind an earlier crash on I-81 south in Pulaski County.


UPDATE 4:45 p.m.: The crash on I-81 south in Pulaski County has been cleared; however, backups continue behind where the crash was located.

All lanes of I-81 south have reopened at mile marker 102.3. Backups, though, are still being reported at approximately two miles.


PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A crash is slowing drivers traveling on I-81 south in Pulaski County.

According to VDOT, the crash is located at mile marker 102.3 and is blocking the southbound right lane and right shoulder.

Traffic is using the left lane to get by the crash; however, backups behind the incident are reported to be approximately three miles.

To avoid delays, drivers should consider finding another route.
