GRAYSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — First responders in Fries discovered a car in a creek while responding to a call for an early morning crash.

Fries Fire and Rescue posted on Facebook on Friday, April 9 that units were dispatched at approximately 3:20 a.m. for a single-vehicle crash in the area of Dixon Road and Fries Road.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found one vehicle off the road and in a creek, but fire officials say there was no patient nearby.

Firefighters ended up using a chainsaw to gain access to the vehicle, remaining on scene for about an hour and a half to manage all hazards and direct traffic while waiting for the towing services to arrive, according to the fire and rescue agency.

There are no reports of any hazardous materials ending up in the creek.
