Blacksburg Police searching for man involved in late night armed robbery at convenience store

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Blacksburg Police Department is searching for a man involved in an armed robbery at a convenience store late Wednesday night.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, the department says officers were dispatched to the Fast Mart Marathon convenience store at 1211 Toms Creek Road for a report of an armed robbery.

According to police, the individual displayed a weapon during the incident and left the area with an some money, but there are no reports of injuries.

Authorities say the individual is described as a heavyset man, about 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, in his early 40s.
