PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says they are involved in a possible “prank call” situation.
According to the sheriff’s office, someone has been contacting county residents claiming to be a specific deputy from the sheriff’s office. The caller then asks the resident to meet them at the county sheriff’s office because they have some legal paperwork that needs to be served on them.
The citizen then come into the office and asks to speak with the deputy who contacted them.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office say they are not involved in these phone calls. They ask for those who get a call about legal paperwork from someone who is claiming to a deputy, to call the office’s main number at (540) 980-7800 and ask to speak to that deputy directly.
WFXR will update this story as more information is received.
