PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — An investigation is underway in Pulaski County after a minor was shot with a pellet gun, sending them to the emergency room Wednesday afternoon.

The Pulaski Police Department says officers were dispatched to the LewisGale Pulaski ER at approximately 1:38 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 for a report about a minor who had been shot in the head.

Authorities determined the incident happened at a home along Henry Avenue, so investigating officers stayed with the minor while other officers responded to the house, where they detained three minors and one adult.

According to the department, police learned that the weapon used in the incident — which is believed to have been intentional — was a pellet gun.

Meanwhile, the minor at the hospital was reportedly treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Due to the ages of the people involved in this incident, officials say they will not release additional information about this ongoing investigation.
