BLAND COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Authorities are investigating a crash involving an SUV that ran off the road and rolled multiple times Saturday evening, leading to the death of a Bland County man.

Virginia State Police say they were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash in Bland County just after 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 on Route 42 (East Bluegrass Trail), about a mile east of Route 667 (Bland Farm Road).

According to officials, a 2016 Chevrolet Trax was traveling west on Route 42, ran off the left side of the road, hit an embankment, ran through a fence, and overturned several times.

Police tell WFXR News that the driver — 40-year-old Terence A. Sayles of Bland — was not wearing his seatbelt, so he was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene.

As of this writing, authorities say they are still investigating this deadly crash.
