New photo evidence has been released in the case of a former Virginia Tech student who is being held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Yunsong Zhao was arrested back in January. Court documents say he had an assault rifle, thousands of rounds of ammunition and was looking at ballistic vests online.
Zhao’s student visa was revoked after he was arrested at Virginia Tech and he was no longer considered a student.
Zhao then filed a lawsuit against Virginia Tech claiming police trampled over a foreign student’s rights.
Zhao’s case was in Federal Court Monday. According to court documents, Monday’s hearing was about motions to dismiss some evidence.
According to the documents, picture evidence was released Monday. The first is a picture of what looks like to be a knife. The next picture looks like ammunition. The third picture is more ammunition. The fourth picture appears to be a Four Loko which is an alcoholic drink. Court documents indicate the drink was not open at the time.
Zhao was 19 at the time of his arrest and under the drinking age in the US. Court documents also had student conduct case details.
The documents stated how Virginia Tech police came to investigate Zhao.
