Names of two found dead on Route 58 near wreck released

HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police have released the name of the two people found dead near the scene of a single car crash in Halifax County Saturday morning.

State Police are now calling their deaths a homicide investigation.

They say 21-year-old Ntombo Bianda of Alexandria, and 19 year old Ayanna Griffin of Germantown Maryland were positively identified, after their bodies were taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Roanoke for an autopsy.

State Police say the wreck happened around 2:51 a.m. on Route 58 near Melon Road February 8th.

Police are asking the public to come forward with any information that would help investigators piece together surrounding the murders.

They are asking anyone who may recall having seen the victim’s car; a silver 2009 Nissan Maxima anywhere between South Boston and Danville between 11 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday to contact them.

They are also asking to hear from people who may have passed through the area of Melon Road between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Saturday, or saw or heard anything suspicious to contact them.
