Motorcyclist dies after wreck on Concord Turnpike

Lynchburg Police, fire and EMS crews responded to a crash on the Concord Turnpike Tuesday, that left a 29-year-old man dead. 

Police say the motorcyclist, operated by Jonathan Lindsay of Lynchburg, was headed westbound on the 23-hundred block of the turnpike when the motorcycle veered into the eastbound lane. 

The motorcyclist struck a Subaru that was heading eastbound at the time. 

EMS crews on scene attempted medical intervention on Lindsay, who ended up dying at the scene of the wreck. 

Police say the accident happend around 6:47 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lynchburg Traffic Safety Unit.
