NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office says 80-year-old Chapin Edward Wilson, who was reported missing, was found safe on Friday morning.
Wilson was last seen in the 6400 block of Laurel Road in the Shipman area on Aug. 24. Deputies say he has dementia and left home on foot.
However, as the search for Wilson continued through the night, he was successfully located on Aug. 25 around 4:17 a.m.
“Many thanks to all involved with the search and rescue! Virginia Department of Emergency Management, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Amherst Fire Rescue,Nelson County Emergency Services,” said the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post.
